EduCater- Commitment to Food Safety Training Seal ©

Consumer Confidence

Consumers need to feel confident that the food they are purchasing is safe to eat. Establishments investing in the training of staff cannot afford a negative consumer perception of their commitment to food safety.

Best practice of food handlers

On the job, competency based training is very effective when training staff in food safety and ensuring that staff demonstrate best practice on the job in order to produce safe food.

Consumer awareness of premises commitment to staff training

For establishments using the EduCater Food Safety Training Programme- Induction Level and certifying the competencies of their staff, EduCater will promote their commitment to food safety training to the consumer and industry through the issue of the EduCater- Commitment to Food Safety Training Seal ©. Further seals will be awarded annually to the food premises that continue to conduct ongoing checks of the competencies of their trained staff.

Steps to attaining the EduCater- Commitment to Food Safety Training Seal ©

  1. Implement the EduCater Food Safety Training Programme- Induction Level
  2. Following training, assess the 'on the job' competencies of staff and submit competency certificate request forms to EduCater
  3. EduCater will issue to the food establishment:
    • Competency certificates to be signed by the food establishment
    • EduCater Commitment to Food Safety Training Seal ©
